On the hottest day of the year so far (!) thirteen intrepid members of the Thursday lunch Connect group set out to climb Severndroog Castle at Oxleas Wood. We made it up to the castle and after a short break for water, enjoyed a guided tour of the tower with a talk on its history. Those who still had energy ascended right to the top of castle turret to enjoy the 360` panorama of London and the South East of England. We finished with a lovely Cream Tea and a great sense of achievement having scaled the tower on such a stifling hot day.
