We had a very exciting June with Jubilee Tea Parties, Baptisms, Summer Fairs and going to see Rev Margaret Installed as Honorary Canon at Southwark Cathedral.
It all started with the Parish Jubilee Tea Party held at St George’s. It was a beautiful, busy celebration with members from all the parish of all generations. Delicious cake was shared and the church was decorated beautifully. We were even greeted by a cardboard cut-out of the queen herself!
We also had the privilege of taking part in the Forum@Greenwich Summer Fair, with stalls and groups from the local community. The church was open with some beautiful art on sale, and we even got the opportunity to test out the new Youth Club ping pong table.
To welcome us out of June and into July, this past weekend we had not one but two celebrations. In our Sunday morning service we had two baptisms and, in the afternoon, many of our church family went to Southwark Cathedral’s choral even song to see Revd Margaret installed as Honorary Canon. It was wonderful to see Margaret and Tim again, and to worship in the beautiful cathedral.
Thank you to everyone who has made this past month so special: our Churchwardens, events planners, children and youth team, clergy, flower arrangers, gardeners, and everyone that has taken part in church family life.
