With you every step of the way

Covid-19 Update for Funerals:

In light of the current restrictions in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the building of Christ Church is closed for public worship, private prayer and all other meetings until further notice.

Sadly, for the time being this means that funerals cannot be held in church.
Funerals may only happen at the Crematorium or at the graveside, and only immediate family members can attend, if the crematorium allows.

We recognise how difficult this is for those grieving at this time. Our clergy team would be happy to discuss holding memorial services at a date in the future where more people can be present for funerals which take place during this period – please contact the vicar, The Revd Margaret Cave for more information.

At Christ Church, we will always be available to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. A Church of England funeral is available to everyone, giving support before, during and after the service, for as long as it’s needed.

The message at all Church of England funerals, wherever they happen, is one of hope. Although there is sadness because someone you know and love has died, in every Church of England funeral there will also be a message of hope in life after death. Hope is not just for the person who has died, it’s for the people who remain behind. It gives us something to hold on to.
