“My kids love it, it’s a nice place to meet other parents and children. The Bible stories are interesting for me and both my boys. You know, I tell me friends I go to church now when I come to this. It makes me see life differently somehow. You’re doing a great job.”
Messy Church
Fun church for children and their grown ups
The Parish of East Greenwich has been holding Messy Church at Christ Church since 2013. We love having so many children and their grown ups come along to each Messy Church session to have fun.
Messy Church is online!
Due to the current restrictions around meeting in groups because of Covid-19, for the time-being Messy Church is unable to meet in person but it is meeting online – see below for our most recent sessions:

Messy Church welcomes you to get messy with craft activities, enjoy story telling, join in singing and share food together.
Everyone is welcome and it’s FREE. Messy Church meets every half term at Christ Church on a Wednesday afternoon from 3.30-5.30pm.
You can find future Messy Church dates and themes on our events page. If you are on our mailing list you will receive an email reminder. There will also be notices on the church noticeboard and flyers go out to our local schools.
Each Messy Church session has a theme around a bible story or a church festival. We have explored themes around great Bible characters like Moses, Esther and Joshua. We have also enjoyed themes around Christmas, Easter and Harvest.
The craft activities are all based around the theme. In the celebration time, we tell a story often dramatically, we think about the theme, we sing songs or worship and we pray. It is a lovely opportunity for children and their parent or carer to share doing craft activities and to think about the theme together.
