“I love the relaxed and informal approach to worship at Christ Church. It is so accessible and really uplifting. I always leave Christ Church with a new spring in my step and a renewed sense of purpose and joy.”

Covid-19 Update for Worship:
In light of the current restrictions in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the building of Christ Church is partially closed for public worship and other meetings – we are able to meet for a small midweek service of Holy Communion but not for Sunday worship, please see Events page for more information.
We are also continuing to meet online and you would be very welcome to join us for any of our online services or events – please see our Live Stream Worship page for more information.
Christ Church offers a space to meet with God and share in community. All are welcome as we enjoy and celebrate our rich diversity. Please feel welcome to join us at any of our services.
Our main service of worship is on Sunday morning at 10am. We also have a monthly 8am service on the first Sunday of the month and a monthly 6pm Taize service on the last Sunday of the month. There is mid-week worship at our Holy Communion service on Thursdays at 12noon and at Morning Prayer on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8.30am.
Here is our worship band singing and playing “What a beautiful name” in the service:
Sunday Worship
Our main service of Sunday worship at Christ Church is at 10am in our main worship space and always includes Holy Communion. The whole service is on a big screen and easy to follow. Everyone is welcome to join us regardless of your previous experience of church or faith.
On the first Sunday of the month and on special festival days such as Easter and Harvest, the 10am service is specially designed for All Ages from baby to the oldest grown up. On other Sundays during term time, our Junior Church provides age appropriate activities for children from age 3 upwards and there is a staffed Crèche available for under 3s.
Junior church goes out and divides into different age groups during the singing of the first hymn and joins the rest of the congregation as we share the peace (3rd Sundays) or at the end of the service (2nd and 4th Sundays). You can take your under 3 up to the Crèche in the upstairs Chapel at any point in the service and leave them there or stay with them. There is an audio visual link to the worship space.
There is a monthly Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month at 8am and also a monthly Taize service on the last Sunday of the month at 6pm.

Midweek Worship
A mid-week service of Holy Communion takes place on Thursdays in the Chapel at 12 noon. This is followed by lunch in the Church and special activities as part of our Thursday Connect group. Everyone is welcome to join any or all of the Thursday Connect activities.
Morning Prayer takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Chapel at 8.30am. We use Morning Prayer from Common Worship as a framework for our prayers and pray for all those on our prayer notice boards and notice sheet. Everyone is welcome.
Taize
Our monthly Taize service is a beautiful time of chanted music, prayer and silence. Rooted in the worship of the Taize Community in France, the chants are designed to be simple and easy to sing and the prayers are based on Taize prayers.
With a focus for our prayer and meditations in the form of an icon and the opportunity to light a candle and place it on the cross, the Taize service is a peaceful and contemplative time of prayer and worship.
