Lent, Holy Week and Easter 2023
Lent
During this time of Lent we encourage to take some time to reflect and focus on God. To aid this you could download the Church of England app, which will give you an opportunity to pause and reflect each day (more details here). If a paper version would suit you better there are some at the back of church, both for adults and for children/families. It offers 40 daily reflections for Lent on faith, failure and forgiveness, and invites you to find God in the mess of everyday life. Each week it considers the idea of failure from a different angle and explores the difference God’s redeeming work in Jesus makes to the struggles and shortcomings of human life.
As Lent is a time to pause and reflect, we will be exploring Emma Ineson’s book Failure: What Jesus said about sin, mistakes and messing stuff up. We will be thinking about what Jesus thought about failure and how it affects both our corporate and personal lives. We will be discussing Emma’s thoughts on failure and sinning in both our Sunday Services and during our weekly connect groups.
